Where To?
We landed around 6pm and met up with Mary Ann and Chris at the Queens and Crescent hotel. The airport isn't far from the French Quarter at all. At least our hotel wasn't. The hotel was okay. I think Ivy really liked the Bath and Body stuff they had for soap, shampoo, and lotion.
Coming from Houston, Mary Ann and Chris landed a few hours before we did. It was great to see them again. We did miss Morgan though.
The first though we all had on our minds was where to go for dinner. The bellboy recommended a place six blocks away called Acme Oyster House. The line was outside and 20 minutes long. Fortunately it stopped raining earlier.
While we waited, the girls walked to a place nearby and brought back hurricanes. Chris and I were treated to a male pole dancer outside of one of the shops across the street. Obviously drunk, but I guess it's always fun to watch someone humiliate themselves.
The oysters were great. I think we shared four dozen of them. Chris ordered the fried shrimp platter and so did I. Mmm...good stuff.
Along with rain, a little gambling was in the forecast, so we strolled over to Harrah's. After scouting the tables, Mary Ann and I decided to seat ourselves and one of two pai gow tables. I made quick work of sixty bucks and Mary Ann near broke even, before deciding to leave half an hour later.
We headed back to the hotel and called it a night. pics...
